    Program Overview:

Over the past few years, employers have been challenged and faced with obstacles when it comes to hiring and retention. Unfortunately, many organizations are hiring warm bodies to fill open positions. Supervisors and managers fear holding employees accountable because they may leave and there will be open positions. We have accepted the philosophy that "any body is better than no body!" This warm body syndrome is causing numerous problems in organizations, and it is time to overcome the obstacles and create an environment and culture that focuses on employee and organizational success.

    Session Description

Can we hold employees accountable in the changed workplace? We will discuss the challenges facing HR and business leaders today. We’ll ask and answer the following questions:

    1. Have you felt, based on current labor market challenges, you have had to lower your performance expectations?

    2. Have you felt reluctant to hold employees accountable for their work expectations out of fear they might quit and leave you with yet another open position?

    3. Do you suffer from the “warm body” syndrome, preferring to have someone in a role rather than no one in the role, just to save the hassle of recruiting someone else?
