    Hanover Area Human Resource Association

    Educational Outreach Partnership Program

    Created January 2020

    PURPOSE:

The Educational Outreach Partnership Program is designed to connect members and guests of the Hanover Area Human Resource Association with community educational institutions such as elementary, middle and high schools, local colleges and universities, and related establishments providing a variety of learning environments and spaces in an effort to promote and develop mutually beneficial workforce development relationships for students and businesses.

    ADMINISTRATION:

The Educational Outreach Partnership Program will be administered and maintained by the elected officials of the Workforce Development Committee of the Hanover Area Human Resource Association.

    PROGRAM MODEL:

The Workforce Development Committee will extend an invitation to a representative (e.g. career counselor, teacher, principal, etc.) of the selected educational institution to join HAHRA during the defined monthly membership meeting. The invitation will be offered to up to two guests from the educational institution at no cost. Lunch will be provided. Additional guests may attend provided they pay the $20 non-member meeting fee. Students identified by the educational institution faculty are welcome to attend as a means of learning about the topic presented and networking with local business leaders.

These guests will be given an opportunity to speak for approximately 3-5 minutes in front of the monthly meeting attendees to inform them of ways businesses can benefit from student career-to-work programs such as job shadows, pre-apprenticeship programs, volunteering, part-time employment, etc.

Invitations will be rotated to various educational institutions, one each month HAHRA is in session.
