    Join us as we learn personal safety tactics from Wellspan security expert, Bill White.

    Speaker bio: William White joined WellSpan in December of 2022 as the Senior Director of Security. In his current position, he is responsible for Security across the WellSpan system. Prior to his current role, he served as the Director of Training for Security at Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine from 2019-2022. He was responsible for all security related training across the Johns Hopkins medicine and university sites.

    William also served in the Pennsylvania State Police for over twenty-five years. William rose through the ranks and eventually retired as a Major, serving as the Director of the Bureau of Training and Education, responsible for all state police enlisted and civilian training. Throughout his career he held numerous positions in Criminal Investigations, Special Operations and leadership roles.  White’s specialization was in Training, Emergency and High-Risk Situations and Incident management. He was the state-wide tactical training officer and tactical section supervisor for the Special Emergency Response Team and also served as the Assistant Coordinator for the Eastern Section.  White also received certification as a Hazardous Device and Explosive Technician (“Bomb Tech”) in 2005 and was a member of the Hazardous Device and Explosive Section. In addition to the Special Emergency Response Team responsibilities, White was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Police Incident Management Team for three years.

    White’s education includes a BS in Criminal Justice from Shippensburg University and a MBA in Business Administration from Eastern University.  He attended the 252nd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and completed the Pennsylvania State Police Leadership Development Program
